Bibendum

The architectural splendor of the antebellum plantation is lovingly preserved in Natchez, which escaped destruction during the Civil War by promptly surrendering to invading Union troops. The oldest city on the Mississippi River celebrates its antebellum heritage with semi-annual pilgrimage seasons in spring and fall, during which many of the stately homes open their doors for public tours. A dozen historic homes are also open for tours year-round.
