Copp's Hill Burying Ground Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

In the North End, next to Old North Church, Copp's Hill rises high above Charter Street, offering pleasant views across the water to Charlestown. The cemetery's residents include three generations of the prominent Mather family: Increase (minister and Harvard president), Cotton (clergyman and writer), and his son Samuel. The Mather plots are located in the northeast corner of the cemetery near the Charter Street gate. Also interred here are African-American abolitionist and Revolutionary soldier Prince Hall, and the remains of hundreds of black Bostonians who settled in the North End in the 18C. You can still see the bullet holes made by British riflemen, who used the gravestones for target practice.
