Since its completion in 1975, the Hancock Tower has reigned as New England's tallest skyscraper. Its unusual rhomboid shape creates a variety of profiles, depending on your vantage point. From the opposite side of Boylston Street, the tower, covered in 10,344 pieces of tempered glass, appears one-dimensional. From other angles it's a gigantic mirror reflecting the sky and its neighbors, Trinity Church and the old John Hancock Building (1947), identifiable by its pyramid-shaped summit topped with a weather beacon.
