Extending 8 miles along Cape Cod Bay, charming Brewster, first settled in the mid-17C, has preserved many of the stately residences built by prosperous sea captains in the 19C. Today it is a popular Cape Cod resort town. Along Brewster's seven public beaches the receding waves of low tide reveal broad flats, extending out over a mile and colored an unusual shade of garnet.
