Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Bibendum
The exterior walls of this library (1961, Gordon Bunshaft) are composed of a granite framework fitted with translucent marble panels. Enter the library and observe the unusual effect produced by the sunlight streaming through the marble slabs. A Gutenberg Bible and changing exhibits are displayed on the mezzanine. Isamu Noguchi's sculptures of geometric shapes anchor the sunken courtyard that fronts the library. Facing the library are several buildings erected to celebrate Yale's bicentennial: Woodbridge Hall offices, the University Dining Hall and Woolsey Hall auditorium. The rotunda, Memorial Hall, contains a large group of commemorative plaques. On the plaza, near Woodbridge Hall, note Alexander Calder's red stabile Gallows and Lollipops.
