This grand 19C agricultural estate and National Historic Landmark on the shores of Lake Champlain was the country home of railroad tycoon William Seward Webb and his wife Lila Vanderbilt Webb, granddaughter of Cornelius Vanderbilt. The 1,400-acre farm now operates as a nonprofit environmental education center with a working dairy and cheesemaking facility. Shelburne House (1899), boasting views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks, now operates as an inn.
