It may not look like much at first glance, but this private home turned performance hall is still "where you'll find all the greats" in the words of Louis Armstrong. Opened in 1961, Preservation Hall was founded to give local musicians a place to play New Orleans jazz. Those bench seats may be anything but comfortable and the setting may be a bit rustic, but Preservation Hall reigns as a mecca for fans of traditional New Orleans-style jazz.
