Daniel remains the type of restaurant where one can never be overdressed. However, its ambience has a calm elegance and less aggressive exclusivity than one might expect. The room shines with art deco style and is a brilliant reflection of its clientele, who still fill the air with power and pomp, though Daniel's gleaming precision has been softened to a warm glow among servers—very good, gracious, and personable. There are no missteps on the menu: world-renowned Chef Daniel Boulud has polished each plate to perfection, from the genius with which it was conceived to the masterful French technique it brings to life. A starter of Nantucket Bay scallops tastes as if the sea itself is blooming within pools of blood orange juice, olive oil, sea urchin, bits of celery, and a few floral leaves. The signature duo of poularde demi-deuil begins as a classic of poached breast and crisp, truffle-stuffed leg with roasted chestnut and black truffle purées, but becomes contemporary alongside lightly pickled savoy cabbage. The simply named chocolate-coconut "biscuit" belies its complexity and fantastic contrast. The single gold leaf resting on top is a luxurious reminder of where you are dining.

      Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältmis Szene Lokal

      Cons

      - sehr laut im Restaurant - lange Wartezeit auf den reservierten Tisch - wurden zu nur 3 Gängen hingeführt/überredet - schneller Tischwechsel - hier geht es nur um „Sehen und gesehen werden“ - für uns nur 1* Michelin - Essen eher schwach / Desert sehr schön angerichtet, aber viel zu süß - Szene Lokal / geringes Gourmet Erlebnis

      Pros

      Everything in Daniel is tops. We enjoyed the food the impecable service and the ambience of this beautiful restaurant. You get what you paid for and it is worth every penny.
