Housed in the basement of the popular Prada showroom, Lure Fishbar easily has some of the best digs in town. Outside, SoHo's streets might be covered in beautiful, old-school cobblestones and teeming with young gorgeous gazelles, but down here a tiki-trendy-meets-maritime motif (think tropical prints, angular porthole windows, and cozy booths) and fat seafood plates reign supreme. A mean-looking sushi counter and raw bar lets you know how seriously they take the food, though. A plate of yellowtail carpaccio arrives fresh as can be, topped with garlic-chili sauce, sesame oil, thin slices of avocado, and crispy, deep-fried shallots; while a wickedly fresh branzino is served whole, perfectly de-boned and laced with pesto, scallions, and crunchy shallots.
