Within its all-mesh metal façade, The Hotel Americano's namesake restaurant is a striking home to contemporary dining in far west Chelsea, just steps from the High Line. Everything has the look of a custom-made, creative masterpiece. Envision high-design chandeliers over marble tables set with thick linens, delicate glasses, and an elevated back patio with bespoke picnic tables—an alfresco paradise. Meals might include fish tacos made with fragrant corn tortillas, smoky-spicy salsa roja, and perfectly grilled fish with fresh cilantro. Yet pastas may be where Americano shines brightest, as in translucent agnolotti filled with fava "pesto" floating in a Parmesan consommé that can only be described as flawless. The crisp, sweet madeleines are Proustian.
