An instant hit when it opened, The Dutch continues to be upbeat, boisterous, and hotter than ever. The bar rocks and the dining room is routinely packed, but this place is still inviting with its Roman and Williams décor and on-point staff. Keep in mind that the oyster bar is a great spot for a solo meal removed from the fray. Chef Andrew Carmellini spins a wondrous web of Americana. The clever "Barrio" tripe is deliciously tender bobbing in a stew of beer, chilies, and hominy, topped with cool avocado and corn chips. Velvety duck breast is coated with finely chopped pecans and set atop organic dirty rice studded with andouille sausage. And that devil's food cake slathered with black pepper-boiled icing really does deserve all of its praise.
