Harlem : Michelin's recommendations

Though only a fraction of the city's African Americans live in Harlem anymore, the neighborhood continues to nurture its history as a fulcrum of African-American culture after becoming world-famous during the 1920s Harlem Renaissance as a center for black arts and culture. The Apollo Theatre, legendary for its all-black revues of the 1930s, still offers varied shows. Harlem encompasses some outstanding architecture, several landmark historic districts and renowned churches and institutions.
