This famed music hall opened its doors to the public in 1932, under the direction of Samuel "Roxy" Rothafel, to present variety shows. At the time, it was the largest indoor theater in the world. In order to become more profitable, the Music Hall began operating as a movie house and soon hosted great movie premieres. It's still famed for the musical spectaculars presented live on its Great Stage and for concerts by top performing artists. The fabulous Art Deco auditorium is one of the finest interiors in New York.
