Formerly the private estate of financier William Robertson Coe, the 409 acres of planting fields include 160 acres that have been developed as an arboretum; the remaining have been kept as a natural habitat. Rhododendrons, azaleas, ornamentals and camelias highlight the collection. In their midst stands Coe Hall, a fine example of the Tudor Revival style.
