Andy Warhol (1928-87) grew up in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood. After graduating from the Carnegie Institute of Technology's College of Fine Arts, he moved to New York and began creating the provocative persona that earned him an enduring place in the 20C art world. On display at any one time are more than 500 works of art and archival artifacts, a fraction of the museum's total collection of more than 3,000 paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs.
