A block west of City Market, a charming garden invites visitors into Scarbrough House, an 1819 Regency villa designed by famed English architect William Jay. Today the villa houses a maritime museum, which presents nautical history and seafaring culture through a fine selection of artifacts, paintings and model ships encompassing the period from the earliest days of sail to World War II.
