With its graceful arches, CafÚ Creole gained fame as the Cherokee Club, a rowdy hotel that opened in 1888. In its heyday, the hotel welcomed Cuban revolutionary JosÚ MartÝ, presidents Teddy Roosevelt and Grover Cleveland and Sir Winston Churchill.
