This nondescript 20C building at the foot of the 14th Street Bridge calls itself, justifiably, "the nation's money factory." Here, paper currency and many of the official documents issued by the US government are produced. Guided tours explore currency processing rooms where you'll see bills being printed by the intaglio process.

Opening hours :

  • Visit by guided tour (45min) only, May-Aug Mon-Fri 9am-10:45am, 12:30pm-2pm & 5pm-7pm. Rest of the year Mon-Fri 10am-2pm. Closed major holidays. Same-day free tickets available from the kiosk (open 8am) on the bureau's west side (R. Wallenberg Pl.) are required Mar-Aug. It is advisable to pick up tickets before 11:30am. Congressional visits available
