Founded in 1941 by steel tycoon Ralph H. Norton, this museum boasts a wonderful spectrum of some 7,000 pieces in its 19 galleries. Permanent holdings place special emphasis on 19C-20C American (O'Keeffe, Hopper, Marin, Warhol, Pollock) and European artists (Monet, Renoir, Matisse, Picasso, Gauguin). A renowned Chinese collection encompasses tomb jades, ceramics and ritual bronzes dating from as far back as 1450 BC. You'll also find top-class temporary and traveling exhibitions.
