Four blocks north and east of the Old Town plaza, this lively museum offers a ramble through geologic time, from the formation of the universe to modern times. Interactive exhibits place visitors in the middle of a live volcano and an Ice Age cave. Fossil exhibits describe the paleontology, zoology and botany of the region from a time when dinosaurs were local residents; twelve new dinosaurs have been added to the recently updated seacoast exhibit . Other features include the giant-screen DynaTheater and the University of New Mexico's Lodestar Astronomy Center.
