Named for the 1980s mayor of Anchorage and present governor of Alaska, the trail passes Westchester Lagoon and several parks before ending at Kincaid Park near the airport. Good weather affords views of Mt. Susitna, Mt. McKinley, and the Chugach Mountains. The inlet boasts the second-largest tidal range (up to 38ft) in North America.
