This 13-acre museum village, south of downtown, contains 37 restored buildings dated 1840-1910, moved here and maintained by the Dallas County Heritage Society. Structures include a rail depot, hotel, bank, doctor's office and school, plus several private homes. Costumed docents carry on chores in the garden, curing shed and livestock lot of the Living Farmstead; a blacksmith, potter and printer may be on hand as well. McCall's 1907 general store offers shopping and the little Pilot Grove Church hosts weddings.
