Eureka Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Pulp mills line the shores of the city whose name (Greek for “I have found it”) serves as California’s state motto. Established in 1850, Eureka became a shipping hub of the mining, and later lumber, industries. Its deep-water harbor has ensured Eureka’s standing as a major port. Commercial fishing and timber processing generate the bulk of the city’s revenues. Fort Humboldt State Historic Park now occupies the bluff on the southern edge of town where the original garrison stood.
