It now sits quietly in the creek where it last worked. Visits start with an introductory film and self-guided wandering through bunkhouses, bathhouse and a museum. Black-and-white photographs and informative panels give insight into Alaska gold- mining history and the hard life of a dredge worker. Items on exhibit include sagging beds, an antique radio, a giant hydraulic hose and a sewing machine. A 20min guided tour of the dank and dark dredge itself shows how the behemoth worked.
