Dr Pepper Museum and Free Enterprise Institute : Michelin's recommendations
The Dr Pepper soft drink was invented in 1885 by pharmacist Charles Alderton at Waco's Old Corner Drug Store. Today, in his 1906 bottling plant, a lifelike model of Alderton describes his concoction. Exhibits and films look at manufacturing and marketing, including an amusing series of old TV commercials. The third-floor Free Enterprise Institute lauds the soft-drink industry as a success story of American capitalism.
