The illuminated extravaganza of flashing, rolling images is generated by more than 2 million fiber-optic lights and synchronized to music from a 540,000-watt sound system. Created by a consortium of 11 casinos, the attraction has transformed downtown's five-block principal thoroughfare into a mix of urban theater and a variety of dining, entertainment and shopping venues. Under its high dome, the canopy creates a pedestrian mall closed to traffic and encompassing several of Las Vegas' most popular downtown casinos, including the Golden Nugget.
