Hollywood & Highland Center Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

The new hub of Hollywood is not a theater or "walk of fame," neither hotel nor restaurant. It's a bit of all of those, with a shopping mall thrown in. The $615 million development (2001, Ehrenkrantz, Eckstut & Kuhn) is anchored by David Rockwell's 3,650-seat Kodak Theater, new home of the Academy Award ceremonies (late Mar). The Awards Walk, a staircase from Hollywood Boulevard, cites every "best picture" honoree since the first Oscars were doled out in 1927. Retail shops surround Babylon Court, with 33ft-high elephant statues flanking a courtyard that echoes a 1916 D.W. Griffith movie set; winding into it is a granite path of anonymous "How I Got to Hollywood" quotes by everyone from actors to caterers.
