Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Bibendum
Named in honor of Theodore Roosevelt, the 12-story hotel (1927) was a popular gathering spot for stars of the 1930s and 1940s. The first Academy Awards ceremony was held here on May 16, 1929. Restored and reopened in 1986, the hotel features a two-story Spanish-Moorish lobby with a stenciled, beamed ceiling. On the walls of the lobby mezzanine, the Hollywood Historical Review presents a photographic history of the community and the movie industry from 1887 through the glittering 1940s. In 1987 the walls and bottom of the hotel's swimming pool (behind main building) were painted with blue swirls by English-born artist David Hockney.
