Japanese American National Museum Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

The first museum in the U.S. dedicated to Japanese-American history occupies the renovated former Nishi Hongwanji Buddhist Temple (1925) and a Pavilion (1998), linked by a plaza. Changing exhibits are drawn from the largest collection of Japanese-American photographs, documents and artifacts in the US. Contemporary art is also displayed. In the 85,000sq ft Pavilion are fragments recovered from a barracks building where Japanese Americans were confined during World War II.
