Adjacent to and downhill from Royce Hall, the three-story brick building (1992) houses one of the four leading university-based museums of anthropology in the country. On view is the Francis E. Fowler Jr. Collection of Silver, a permanent display of 251 silver objects from England, Europe and America. Other galleries-all on the main floor-exhibit changing thematic displays of art and artifacts drawn from the museum's permanent collection of more than 750,000 objects. The collection includes extensive holdings in African and insular Southeast Asian textiles and Latin American art.
