Founded in 1959, this museum is devoted to folk, tribal, ethnic and contemporary art. Its permanent collection, concentrating on regional and California art plus arts of Asia and the Pacific Rim, includes works by Pablo Picasso and photography by Man Ray, Ansel Adams and Edward Weston.
