Admire Mt. San Jacinto's scenic wonderland from the world's largest rotating tramcars. Ride 2 1/2 miles up and over the state park as the tramcars revolve slowly from within, offering spectacular 360-degree views.
After departing Valley Station, the tram ascends to the Mountain Station, at an elevation of more than 8,500 feet. A variety of recreational activities await you at the top of the mountain; the 14,000-acre Mt. San Jacinto State Park offers 54 miles of hiking trails, campgrounds, a ranger station, and an Adventure Center. The Adventure Center–open mid-November through mid-April (snow conditions permitting)–rents cross-country skis and snowshoes. Mountain Station features two viewpoints, two restaurants, a cocktail lounge, gift shop, Natural History Museum, and a theater showing a special documentary on the history of the tramway. Please allow at least 2 hours to explore Mountain Station and the Adventure Center.
Duration:
Approx. 10 minutes each way, plus time at the top
Available:
Daily, except for the two weeks following Labor Day week, when the tram is closed for annual maintenance
Departure times:
Trams depart every 30 minutes from the Valley Station beginning at 10 AM, Mon.–Fri., and at 8 AM, Sat.–Sun. The last tram up departs Valley Station at 8 PM, and the last tram down departs Mountain Station at 9:45 PM.
Inclusions:
Children 2 years and under ride free of charge, but still require a boarding pass. Please mention any children 2 years and under to the ticket agent when redeeming your voucher(s).
