Bibendum
The white and blue ring-shaped Art Moderne structure (1935), formerly called the Ford Building, housed a demonstration automobile assembly line for the California Pacific Exposition. The Aerospace Museum has been here since 1980.Dedicated to chronicling the history of flight, the ever-growing collection today encompasses some 66 full-size vintage aircraft, from biplanes to space capsules, 42 of them original; 14,000 scale-model aircraft; and 10,000 aviation-related items. Just inside the entrance, in the International Aerospace Hall of Fame, oil portraits and biographical plaques salute notable inventors, industrialists and pilots. Encircling the interior wall is artist Juan Larinaga's 468ft-by-18ft mural, The March of Transportation (1935).
