San Francisco : Michelin's recommendations
Founded as Mission Dolores (by priests) and the Presidio (by soldiers) in 1776, San Francisco grew from the pueblo of Yerba Buena. Yerba Buena grew modestly on trade, changing its name to San Francisco after the US claimed California in 1846.
