Beer lovers are saying Prost ! to Leopold's, an authentic Austrian gasthaus that opened in 2011 and is already the toast of the town. And it's no wonder: two-, three- and five-liter beer steins and boots hold lots of liquid to cheers with. Word to the wise: non-diehards coming for the food should slip in before it gets too crowded. Reservations? Nein. With Alpine décor and all manner of fried, cheesy, and meaty fare, Leopold's is an honest restaurant ideal for the genuinely hungry. Dinner might include rich kasespatzle gratin seasoned with nutmeg, garnished with crisp onions, and served with a warm cabbage and bacon salad; and the extra-hearty choucroute garnie platter laden with smoky pork and bratwurst with sauerkraut and caraway-roasted potatoes.
