The foodie-focused design orients the small dining space around the central exhibition kitchen; while a downstairs lounge, sultry purple-painted ceiling, brass-studded leather chairs, and glass jars complete the trendy setting. Obscure photos present a pop quiz for culinary aficionados whose every whim is catered to by a relaxed yet responsive staff. Well-dressed groups mingle with casually chic clusters in this cool, atmospheric haven where brilliantly gifted chefs gracefully put out sophisticated fare. The nightly prix-fixe menus (one is vegetarian) may unfold stories about the delicate yet bold curls of kampachi crudo dressed with lime kosho and quail bush leaf; while savory meat courses of spiced and braised wild boar medallions served over streaks of apple and hay purée with a dusting of pink peppercorns may result in memoirs on floral flavors. The creative presentations and combinations present in a caramelized pork belly posed atop blanched English peas sweetened with verjus; or refined dessert of bloomy Osmanthus-infused cake paired with candied beets and rose-vanilla ice cream, will have foodies snapping pictures.

      Outstanding table service, just about perfect; cuisine is original, several courses of small(er) plates and exceptionally well prepared; appropriate wine list is reasonable; merits a michelin star for certain! Highly recommended. Reservations necessary.

      Very unassuming exterior, small interior is a bit cramped but not horrible.
