Two angular towers linked by a glass-enclosed "sky bridge" cap this futuristic skyscraper (1987, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill). The building incorporated the facades of earlier historic structures, including the J. Harold Dollar Building (1920) and the Robert Dollar Building (1919), former steamship-line headquarters. Office spaces fill the lower 35 floors, while the top 11 stories house the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Hotel (main entrance at 222 Sansome St.).
