Leave your diet at home, ignore the neighborhood, and follow your snout to the waft of barbecue coming from the large, black smoker parked alongside the Smoking Pig BBQ. The old building has housed previous restaurants (the worn booths are telling). Still, aficionados run down here for heaping mounds of fingerlickin' good spare ribs and friendly down-home service. The ribs and pulled pork are delectably, fall-off-the-bone delicious, especially when coupled with the cheekily named homemade sauces: Kansas City Hottie, California Honey, Carolina Sassy. Important points: food here is served on paper-lined aluminum trays with plastic cutlery; secondly, the wolf turds (smoky jalapeños stuffed with molten cheese) and peanut butter pie are not to be missed!
