Modeled after the Sainte-Chapelle church in Paris and dedicated in 1878, this chapel is noted for its famous spiral staircase. Leading to the choir loft, this staircase makes two complete 360-degree turns with no nails or other visible support. Legend claims it was built by a mysterious carpenter who appeared astride a donkey, in answer to the prayers of the Sisters of Loretto.
