Take a photographic journey through Seattle's Fremont area. Create artful souvenirs of the visit with the help of a professional photographer, and learn tips and tricks to make truly captivating images.
Fremont, Center of the Universe, where the artists live. This neighborhood jaunt takes you through Fremont, where many local artists live and work. Beginning at an enchanting Rose Garden with topiary trees right out of Alice in Wonderland, journey downhill past yoga and belly-dancing studios on your way into the heart of Fremont.
Public art flourishes here, with famous sculptures such as “Waiting for the Interurban,” which Seattleites dress up in costumes at whim. See a bronze statue of communist revolutionary Vladimir Lenin as well as a lurking Troll who is eating a life-size Volkswagen Beetle.
Continuing on, walk to Gasworks Park on Lake Union, an industrial treasure trove of possibilities for photographers. Kite flying is quite popular at this park, so understanding light, its direction, the type, and how it affects the photograph will be discussed.
