Drive along the Mountains to Sound Greenway for a morning of local flora and fauna and a hike. After lunch at a certified organic farm, visit four wineries and introduce your taste buds to the local libations.
Start your day off with a short drive across Lake Washington and along Lake Sammamish, up into the Cascade foothills, and along region's self-named Mountains to Sound Greenway, in the heart of Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Disembark the vehicle for views of the breathtaking Snoqualmie Falls. The 268-foot (82-meter) waterfall tumbling over granite cliffs into the emerald canyon below is sure to make a lasting impression!
Depending on conditions, your guide will pick a suitable trail and embark on an interpretive hike (or snowshoe) to the nearest vista experiencing the current season's beauty. Keep on the lookout for local wildlife and birds, all the while just taking in the stunning scenery.
Then it's on to lunch at Full Circle Farm, a 260-acre certified organic produce farm in Carnation. The farm cultivates over 125 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and herbs, while utilizing sustainable farming practices that focus on soil health as the foundation for nutritious organic produce and your lunch!
With the active behind you, and food in your belly, it's time to bring on the vino! Visit at least four of Woodinville's most acclaimed boutique wineries in an intimate and relaxed setting. By the glass and by the barrel, explore four of the following wineries: Covington Cellars, Airfield Estates, JM Cellars, DeLille Cellars, Hollywood Hill Vineyards, or Brian Carter Cellars. The spotlight is on more than just the quality of the wine as your guide digs a little deeper and discusses the local natural history, sustainability in winemaking, and the practice of bio-dynamics in viticulture. The local ecology is brought into the foreground with a couple of short interpretive nature walks on native wetlands. This escape will no doubt quench your thirst for an authentic Pacific Northwest wine and adventure!
