This spectacular museum, designed by Arthur Erickson and built in 2002, reflects the fact that Tacoma is dale Chihuly’s hometown. A distinctive 90ft-tall stainless steel cone, inspired by traditional sawmill burners and containing an interactive glass-art studio, rises above the industrial Thea Foss Waterway and connects to a rooftop plaza. Visitors should not miss the bridge of Glass, a pedestrian passage to the Tacoma Art Museum.
