El Paseo House of Chops isn't cutting any corners when it comes to romancing its diners with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Tucked inside a secluded courtyard that will woo even the most hard-core urbanite with its country appeal, it is also a go-to spot for date night. If the Smithsonian had a museum of American cuisine, it would certainly include a good portion of this menu. It has all the hits—Parker House rolls with garlic butter sauce, served in a cute cast-iron dish; BLT deviled eggs with caviar for a spruced up version of that family picnic favorite; even chocolate soufflé (borrowed from the French, but perfectly at home state-side). Of course, as the name suggests, El Paseo specializes in meat, and the 38-day, dry-aged sirloin steak is a winner.
