Fifteen miles of trails weave through the woodlands of this biotically diverse 1,760-acre tract, bisected by the San Lorenzo River and notable for its fine stands of coast redwoods. The site is named for Henry Cowell, whose heirs deeded over the land for the park. The Redwood Grove Trail (.8mi; begin south of parking lot) loops past the park's largest trees, some towering 300ft.
