The Lam Vien reserve occupies a delightful location amid a wild mangrove swamp and is well worth a visit. To tour the reserve, you’ll need to clamber aboard a precariously balanced small boat – the only way of negotiating the narrow channels here and having any chance of spotting the waders that inhabit the area. However, the best viewpoint is from the top of a wooden tower built in the middle of the mangroves.
