Although the town may at first appear a bit dreary, a walk along Bach Dang Avenue soon reveals some superb colonial-style houses, now occupied by various official administrative offices. This walk along the river is particularly pleasant in the evening, when the whole avenue is dotted with lights and small makeshift cafés spring up under the large trees facing the port.
