Departing Ho Chi Minh City, set course fro My Tho, a former naval base turned busting port city in the Mekong Delta. The area is the final destination of the mighty Mekong River, which winds its way from Tibet, through China, Burma, Laos, Cambodia and finally Vietnam. See the life of locals, many of which work in the prime food production industry in this incredibly fertile region, which is responsible for nearly half of Vietnam's total agricultural output.
Board a private boat for a cruise on the Mekong River. Stop at a fish farm and gain an insight into one of the cottage industries of the region. Visit a series of islands full of lush tropical gardens for an opportunity to sample local fruits, and to learn about the production of coconut candy at a local factory.
Visit local villages in the area and learn more about the traditional lifestyles, culture and customs of people who call the Delta their home. Continue by Xe Loi (motorized cart) to a bee farm, where you transfer to smaller rowing boat allowing for deeper access into the smaller canals of the Delta.
Enjoy a local lunch at the Diem Phuong restaurant, where your local guide will provide advice on the finer points of local cuisine and assist us with ordering some delicacies. Return to Ho Chi Minh City after lunch.
