Hôtel de Ville Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

The long Nguyen Hue Avenue (formerly Boulevard Charner), created in the 19C above a filled-in canal, is now a showcase for urban development. It links the river with the old town hall, now the HQ of the People’s Committee, and the subject of much debate during its construction (1901-08). A symbol of the colonial empire, the “cream puff” design of its façade, embellished with a pastel yellow belfry and bas-reliefs and Corinthian columns, must have seemed highly unusual for the time. It is now one of the emblems of the city.
