For the past few years, the old town of Hoi An has been undergoing a facelift in an effort to highlight its harmonious yet diverse architecture. Many of its old Chinese, Japanese and Western-style houses have been restored and some of its less elegant modern buildings demolished. Enjoy a stroll through the pedestrianised streets of this traditional district, which for some visitors might feel a little too much like a museum.
