The “Pagoda of the Immortals” occupies a huge cavern and is accessed via a flight of steps. The pyramids of Coca Cola and other fizzy drinks placed on the altars bear witness to the respect lent to the powerful divinities of the site. To the rear of a room dedicated to Quan Am, the Celestial goddess is worshipped, surrounded by a forest of incense sticks burning in blue and white holders. A tunnel leads to some natural windows which open onto the attractive countryside around Lang Son.
